Description

Job Summary

Plans and prepares work orders for multi-week schedule for all groups involved in equipment outages, corrective and preventive maintenance, capital and operating/maintenance modifications. Partners with external vendors through purchasing/procurement to maximize resources and minimize costs. Utilizes the following systems to create and track optimal sequencing of work orders and work completion: Maximo, SAP, Documentum, EBS, Primavera, PASTA and Plant View. This position requires strong coordination and planning, scheduling, and estimating skills to ensure maintenance is performed in a timely and efficient manner with verifiable metrics.

Accountabilities

  • Identify root cause of problems and establish work scope for day-to- day and project work.

  • Develop accurate time and resource estimates that require appropriate levels of productivity.

  • Create accurate, complete multi-week schedules, including milestone dates for major projects.

  • Build complete packages, including safety notices, which are validated through walk-downs.

  • Manage backlog consolidation requests.

  • Complete required tasks as allowed within EBS purchasing/procurement role.

  • Develop and maintain the preventive maintenance database interfacing with CPG.

  • Determine the most effective use of both internal and external resources.

  • Utilize the appropriate tools to create, plan and execute the work, including Maximo, Documentum, Primavera, PASTA, and Plant View.

  • Create and maintain effective daily interactions with Outage Managers, Project Managers, Alliance Managers, Work Center Control Coordinators, and various levels of job supervisors, specialty vendors and contractors.

  • Adhere to and improve Work Management and associated processes.

  • Provide supervision of employees and contractors as needed.

  • Perform Contract Administrator duties in support of effective management of assets.

Qualifications

Education, Experience and Competencies

Associates Degree in an Engineering discipline (or have completed two years of a four year accredited engineering program) and two years of mechanical, electrical, or instrument experience working on equipment typically found at a power generating station.

OR

High school diploma and a minimum of three years estimating, scheduling and planning work in a power plant, heavy industrial or heavy construction setting.

OR

High school diploma with seven years experience working on equipment typically found in a power generating station, heavy industrial or heavy construction setting in either a skilled trade or certified operating position.

  • Prior supervisory experience in a maintenance environment preferred.

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Ability to act independently and accept new responsibilities.

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, schematics, measuring devices, and rigging and lifting equipment.

  • Estimating skills predicated on reasonable, critical and documented assumptions and reflect appropriate productivity from crew.

  • Capability to effectively utilize Maximo, SAP, Primavera, PASTA, Documentum, and Plant View, or similar work management programs.

  • Ability to coordinate information from various sources and interface with multiple customers to complete tasks.

  • Problem-solving skills utilizing a formal methodology.

  • Knowledge of cost analysis regarding work orders.

  • Ability to understand the business implications of decisions.

  • Act as a change agent through involvement in process improvement.
